Is there a difference in sound between a clear drum skin and a regular drum skin?

Also, do the clear drum skins produce more an echo? Thanks. Is there a difference in sound between a clear drum skin and a regular drum skin?
Yes there is a difference the clear drum skin has a sharper attack which will create more of an echo in your set which you don't want . to remove it you must learn how to tune your drums . this is the most common cause of distortion in sound in live groups . making them sound bad. tuning the drums is the Professional solution and first step to having great sound not only as a percussionist but as a group playing live
