How to Record Music with CLEAR sound?

i have some music in WMA format, in my media player. I have written lyrics to them. I've made songs by playing the music on my Windows Media Player and then singing. I've recorded it to my phone. It comes out fuzzy, static-ish, and unclear. What are some inexpensive recorders, or devices and/or programs that I can use to record my music clear. And something not too expensive.
